No Sew Ribbon Flower Hair Clip

Ruffled Ribbon Flower Clip

Supplies:
Wire Ribbon
Scissors
Glue Gun
Bobby Pin, Hair Clip, Head Band, or Safety Pin
Decorative beads (optional)
Scrap piece of fabric

Directions:
The best part about this flower hair clip is that it is so easy to make! And you don't need a sewing machine or thread and needle to create the ruffled look!
1. Trim your wired ribbon to expose the ribbon.
2. On one side of the ribbon, start pulling the wire out to bunch the ribbon.
3. As you pull the wire out, the ribbon will bunch and twirl. Make it as large as you want.
4. Form your ribbon into a round flower shape.
5. Start gluing your flower on with the bottom and working your way up to the top.
6. Add beads or buttons to the middle to hide the ending.
7. Glue your flower onto a hair clip, head band, or safety pin!

Bunching the ribbon.

Glue the ribbon in the form of a flower onto a scrap piece of fabric. Trim the fabric.

Secure the flower to a hair clip or headband to wear it in your hair, or attach it to a safety pin to wear on a blouse.

Free Blog Backgrounds

One thing that bothers me about most free blog background sites is that their backgrounds are all scrapbook cheesy. That style works for many, but not for me. I decided to start featuring some cute, simple, yet stylish backgrounds you can use for your blog. Added plus: they're easy to install!

To install, right click on the image and open in a new page or tab. This will bring open the full image. Right click on the picture and save the background to your computer.

Next, open up blogger.com  and click template -> customize.

Choose a template (I prefer the picture window templates).

Click background and upload the image.

Next, go to Advanced ->Backgrounds and set the outer background to white (unless you want to have 2 different colored stripes, then choose your preferred color)

Tada! All done!

Mommy's Little Monster Baby Shower

Thursday, November 1, 2012

My main baby shower was a blast and the theme was so cute: Mommy's Little Monster! Sheriece and Cheryl did an awesome job putting it together, with the help of many others! The food, decorations, and games were fabulous! My Mom got to come up for this baby shower and it was so fun to have her!

Here are some of the details:

The Soup Table.

Devin and I's little Monster Flower ball. As a florist, I just had to make something fun and creative to match this theme! What do you think?

Cheryl's Little Monster Cake with my flowers to the side. I used a lot of fun textures to make it look monster-ish: protea, billy balls, hydrangea, and parrot tulips!

Grandma's Pull Aparts

Monday, July 25, 2011

When I was a young girl, we would go and spend the night at my Great Grandma's house. Everyone loved going to her house. She had a large tub that we always took bubble baths in and for breakfast we always made Sticky Buns! They are super easy and super delicious!

Pull-A-Parts Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup chopped nuts ( I use sliced almonds)
1 square margarine
1/2 tsp cinnamon (I don't use)
1/2 cup brown sugar
small package Butterscotch Pudding (not instant)
12 to18 Rhodes Texas frozen rolls

Directions:
1. Grease bundt pan (can also use a large loaf pan)
2. Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan. Place part of frozen rolls on top of nuts
3. Sprinkle half of pudding mix on top of rolls.
4. Add other part of frozen rolls and the rest of pudding.
5. Melt margarine and sugar together and pour evenly over rolls.
6. Let rise all day or at night (8 hours)
7. Wake up and bake 350 degrees for 30 Min or until brown.
8. Remove from pan upside down on plate.

This is me with my Great Grandmother, enjoying Pull-A-Parts after my bubble bath! I am so grateful that I was able to have such a wonderful grandmother. We learned so much from her!

Peanut Butter Cookies

Saturday, July 9, 2011

Devin and I made peanut butter cookies to take to a neighbor and realized we didn't have any paper plates to deliver them on! Once the cookies cooled down, we stacked them in the center of saran wrap, brought the corners up to the top and tied a ribbon around. I think it turned out cute!

1/2 C peanut butter
1/4 C shortening
1/4 C margarine or butter, softened
